Posting Card is a simple, networked device, built for sustaining friendships. It uses a multi-colour e-paper display to let a close group of friends share their lives in a slower, more authentic way.

garden vs stream

While traditional social media flows like an endless stream, demanding constant attention, Posting Card cultivates a garden—offering space for slower, more intentional connections to grow. Free from scrolling, commercial algorithms, and glowing notifications, it provides a gentler, more mindful alternative to sharing images and text with a small circle of friends.

resourceful objects

Posting Card's resourceful, dematerialized design results from its simple yet meaningful functions. It consists of a single PCB with a multi-color e-paper display, protected by a silicone sleeve. Its lightweight network protocol and lack of constant updates enable operation via a coin cell battery.

printed pixels

Posting Card exists between the fleeting digital messages and the permanence of analogue print, living in personal space rather than always on a person. Its multi-color e-paper display refreshes 7 pigments individually, showing photos and messages in a film-like process. Unlike glowing LCDs, it adapts to lighting, encouraging mindful, intentional interaction.

Posting Card’s social network is built on a decentralized, peer to peer protocol (p2p). As a result, private messages and photos are sent directly from friend to friend, without being stored on a central server and used to train algorithms or tailor advertisements. By combining a few simple components and a basic network structure, friends can stay up to date in a slower and more thoughtful way free from the pressure of algorithms and read receipts.
